South Florida home sales ended 2016 with a fizzle, but the sluggish demand still isn’t pinching prices.
Sales of existing, single-family homes in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties declined in December from a year earlier, though the three counties saw continued increases in median prices, local Realtor boards said Tuesday.
Real estate agents across the region say the housing market remains steady. It’s just nowhere near the frenzy of 2012 and 2013, when homes sold in days or weeks to ambitious bargain hunters.
Palm Beach County had 1,413 sales last month, down 5 percent from a year earlier, according to the Realtors Association of the Palm Beaches.
